Mission Statement~

When people in the Chicagoland Area speak of Ballroom Dancing, Fred Astaire Dance Studios is immediately mentioned!  The goal is to have 20 Fred Astaire studios in the area, with top of the line instructors and managers, therefore passing on their expertise to their students.

Chicago Area Directors-Joe & Rae Josephs~

In the beginning-
Joe & Rae started in the dance industry (Chicago Fred Astaire) in 1977. 
They worked in Chicago as instructors and it wasn't long before Joe was a Supervisor and than a manager of one of the top Fred Astaire Studios in the country.  Having a desire to own a studio, the opportunity came about in 1981 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  So, September 7th, 1981, Joe & Rae opened the Milwaukee North studio and history was in the making!  They became Wisconsin Area Franchisors in 1985, and proudly oversaw 4 successful studios in the Milwaukee area. 

However, they are proudest of the Milwaukee North studio consistently running as the top studio in the industry for 8 consecutive years!  In 1999, Joe and Rae Josephs were awarded the "Cassanave Award" for outstanding contributions to the dance industry. In 2001, they operated the number one studio in the World and received another high achievement award!  In 2005, after 24 years in Milwaukee, Joe and Rae decided they wanted to go home and take on a new challenge, so along with 2 of their best employees, Jackie & Jesse, off they went.  Joe and Rae purchased the Chicago Area and within two years, are proudly overseeing 6 studios.

• Rae & Joe have been married 26 years!
• Their daughter, Jackie Josephs, is one of the youngest, most successful business woman and dancer in the industry.  Ranked one of the top American Rhythm dancers in the World, along with her partner, Jesse.  Jackie and Jesse presently operate the fastest growing dance studio in the United States, ranked #1 in the industry, opened in 2006!
